Cockatoos v Cats

20 June 2010

A brilliant sunny day greeted a 42 strong contingent of ACT Masters footballers on Sunday at the home of football in Kambah, the infamous ‘Cauldron’. And all the skills and flair of our great game were on display.

It was a day of best efforts for the season including: Billy with 10 contested marks inside 50 and 3 goals, Crusty with a polished performance on a forward flank, and a dashing Petey T on the wing.

Proving once again that whatever the AFL can do the Masters can match, this time it was the use of small forward to match winning effect. Rhino was best player for the day at full forward with great attack on the ball and agility that is only gifted to some. Scores were cockies 97 to the Cats 77. Excellent games were also had by Frommy (first game for a while), Kyro, Darren Mc, Pearly, Ben and the irrepressible skutafeidies.

It was great to see Ricky Doliver and Pete Southen back on the field for their first games for a few years.
